Questions, answered
- What's free, exactly?
- The first two modules (Seamanship and Chartwork — 12 full lessons), the first lesson of every other module, the Foundation mock exam, two scenarios, and the tide calculator, compass converter, buoyage trainer and practice chart. No card required.
- Which option should I pick?
- Most students take the Exam Pass: one payment, a full year of everything, no subscription to remember to cancel. A typical theory course runs 8–12 weeks, so a year covers preparation, the course, the exam and your first season afloat with room to spare.
- Can I cancel the monthly plan?
- Any time, in two clicks, from your account page. You keep access until the end of the period you've paid for. The Exam Pass isn't a subscription — it never renews and there's nothing to cancel.
- Is this an RYA course?
- No — SkipperPrep is an independent study platform and isn't affiliated with or endorsed by the RYA. It's the practice layer: use it before or alongside a certificated theory course to arrive prepared and leave confident.
- Do prices include VAT?
- Yes — the price you see is the price you pay. A VAT receipt is emailed after every payment.
