SkipperPrep explains rules and techniques; it does not replace the current rule, chart, almanac, forecast or equipment manual. When a teaching convention conflicts with an authoritative current source, the authoritative source wins and the lesson must change.

Use current editions aboard
Regulations, charts, notices, forecasts and product instructions change. Before a real passage, use current official publications for the area, current charts and notices, the vessel's own data and equipment manuals, and advice from a qualified instructor or competent local authority where appropriate.
