Motoring north at 6 knots on a clear afternoon. A coaster is out on your starboard bow, a little over two miles off, and you have just lined her up against the shroud.

Her bearing is drawn to scale — 4.4 units to the degree, the measurement the drill is about. Her size on screen follows her range but is exaggerated, or a boat two miles off would be a single pixel.
